A tire rotation sounds like an up-sell, like getting an up-sized soda. But when is it necessary and why would you want to pay for it?

Put simply, a tire rotation is when your tires are moved around. If you have unidirectional tires, then your front and back tires will be swapped. If you have omnidirectional tires, then your tires will be rotated in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. Why does this matter?

If you look at your feet, you'll probably notice a callus on one part of your foot but not another. This callus is from unequal wear from your foot contacting the ground. The same thing happens with your tires -- only they don't develop calluses, they develop bald spots. Rotating your tires frequently, like every other oil change, will help reduce uneven wear and increase the lifespan of your tires.

If you have any questions about when to have your tires rotated, please give us a call so we can help you figure out what to do.
